I agree! A standard USP with a Match Trigger would be best/least expensive starting point if you dont plan to use a can. Its the best all around feature on a Tactical if you dont use a can.
Always wanted a Mark 23, but want a USP Expert .45 even more!

I have the SD with with close to 10,000 rounds through it. Since I reload nothing but 147s it's a dream to shoot. To tell the truth I don't even suppress it that much, but I prefer the straight back recoil of the 147s, less recoil overall, and no sonic crack. It's my goto gun for shooting steel plates...

That's another reason I vote for the 45 Tactical. You can always go down to 9mm like I did and have the muscle memory/familiar with the controls. The Mark23 has similar controls but it's too different to just pick it up and go like you can do between calibers on the USP platform.

I would consider a USP CT 45 if only one gun. If two, I would have a MK23 as second and a USPT as third.

Start with the USP Tactical. The Mark 23 and some of its smaller cousins will eventually follow you home.

    I have USPT45, USP45,MK23, HK45, HK45CT.

Smaller hands will like the HK45/45C and USP45 Compact better.

I have L/XL bony hands and I like the USPT 45 best, 12 rounds of .45 in a pistol I can carry cocked and locked. I also like the USP45 well.

MK 23 has different controls and tiny safety levers. Intended to be carried DA first shot.

MK23 and USPT45, HK45 are all match accurate.
