I use the middle finger firing hand. But I think there is no exact right way to do it. Whatever is most comfortable for the shooter is the correct way for that shooter.

Yeah I use the middle finger on my firing hand as well. Some people use the index finger on their firing hand while some people's hands are large enough to use the thumb on their firing hand.

I do what seems natural for me and that is my strong hand thumb. I don't claim to believe this is best for everyone, but it works well for me. Is there such a thing as only one right way?

primary hand trigger finger! very fast and no grip manipulation. It will seem odd at first, but once you get used to it, you'll never want to switch back.

I use my primary hand index on my P30, and my thumb on my USPC. Consequently, I use my thumb on every non HK handgun I own, (Glock, Colt, FN). That said, my P30 gets a lot more love than any of the rest of them, so index it is.

This. Honestly the mag releases are the only part of an HK I don't like. I've tried all the methods, and none of them feel great.

Forget the fancy colors, short slide, long slide, and optics cut, I just want a VP9 with a darn mag release button!
