Default Stippled VP9? (whole or just panels)

Has anyone had his VP9 stippled?

Has anyone had only the panels and backstrap stippled?

If so, could you post pictures? If you had it professionally done, it would be great if you could identify the vendor. Also, if you have only had the panels/backstrap stippled, I'd be interested in hearing whether that is sufficient surface area to make it grippy.

I currently use Talon Grips to get sufficient purchase, but I find myself having to replace them about every 6-9 months.

I'll get you photos shortly. I have a buddy that does a damn good job. I have him do the side panels and back strap. Makes a huge difference.

Instead of stippling my grip, I use a bicycle inner tube ($4.00) and cut a 2-3" section out of it and slip it on over the grip. It is extremely thin and won't slip. Here in the 90+ degree weather in Florida I sweat all the time, and even with my wet sweaty hands the grip won't slip. And I can always slip/cut it off again or replace as needed.

Man I would say just do the panels. Why not? They are replaceable with new ones if ever you need to. No biggie

@Evan O, when it is stippled does it the grip feel smaller in your hands?

Cool. Could you post those photos? And if you don't mind, PM me your buddy's contact info, if he does this commercially?

    Thanks!

I did it! Today, I put them to test at USPSA in the hot and humid Georgia weather today and they were 100%! I do not feel the need to do the front or mess with the frame. I did not want to compromise my frame or do anything that would make it unfit for competition rules.

i got to handle a VP9 that had been sent out to be stippled on the mainland
it had the radiating pattern that some places use
it was very nice, but it involved the whole grip, so you could no longer change grips
sorry, didn't get a chance to take pics, i was teaching a handgun safety class
nor did i ask who did it or the cost
i could find out later, the next time i see the owner
