    Ah, I see.

Not really crazy about losing forward assist though. That's handy when a DI gun gets all gummed up shooting it suppressed.

    I guess it's a double edged sword.

Ahh...that's a good reason not to shoot DI guns! I can honestly say that I have never used the forward assist on any of my LWRC rifles. Therefore, I don't bat an eyelash at deleting it.

My main match gun (Long range DMR) is a DI, and I shoot it suppressed all the time.

My MR556 upper is just as accurate but with only 16" of tube, it doesn't have the velocity I need to compete out long (700Y).

If HK made an 18 or 20" variant, I'd be competing with it.

I also have two LWRCI's and I agree they are absolutely superb guns.

I got a couple of gas piston guns and discovered the extreme need for a front vertical grip, or an oven mitt.

It would be a good reference if everyone could please report your serial numbers and whether it has the defects or not. I think masking the last 2 digits of the serial would be sufficient.

19XX no on the SP5k. My MKE K gun does have the hole though.

Anyone notice the fore grip being canted to the rear where it inserts to cover the trunion area??

Actually, they do!! They are much more careful with cosmetic issues going to civilians. I could show you voids in the forging of 416 receivers that you would be like WHAAAA?? YEAH, they are not particular on war guns with cosmetic issues..
