    Default USP expert

I have a new expert on the way and know I will need to change the front sight. Old age and bad eyes just don't work anymore with black on black. I like the front fiber optic on my custom combat so I think I will try one on the expert when it gets in. So what sight do you guys recommend? I have looked on the Dawson site but will have to decide on width and height so would anyone have any advice?

    Thanks

Finding a proper 8.9mm (height) front sight for the expert/elite can be challenging. Ameriglow used to offer a tritium sight but I believe they've since stopped production.

HKParts usually has a good selection of sights.

They do make red dot mounts that replaces the rear sight in case you wanted to go that route.

Why not just paint the front sight bright fluorescent green / orange? Model paint or even nail polish should work. No need to modify the gun.

I haven't found a sight option that I like on the experts. I had the Dawson on my Expert 45, it was great outside but not so much inside. The Mep front sight that they sell at HK parts.net is just ok, inside and outside. I have Truglo TFX on another gun that I really like, but not available for the expert.

The .280" from Dawson Precision works. LifeSizePotato and others have 'em.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to do more research on this but I think I want a fiber. The gun should be here early next week and it's just a range toy for me so I'm in no rush.

I just went through this with a 9mm Expert. The Dawson .100 wide X .235 tall USP fiber optic works well with the .125 wide OEM adjustable rear sight. This front sight also has allowed me to lower the rear sight significantly, compared to where it was elevated to when zeroed with the factory .275 front.
