    Default P7 production date question?

    Hello Fellas,

I was wondering if anyone can help me find the production date for my P7.

    The serial number is: 38454

What an incredible pistol, design, and quality of workmanship....it's perfection.
Like they say...they don't make them like that anymore.

I equate the P7's to a vintage Ferrari. I don't think that anyone will make such a well made gun ever again.

Same as with the MP5. I carried one everyday during my stint as a SWAT officer here in New York. The M4 is a piece of junk compared to the MP5. I put god-knows how many thousands of rounds through mine and it never jammed...not even once.

Once during an intense week of training I didn't clean it...every once in a while I squirted some Break Free on the bolt head. At the end of the week it looked like tar, but still the gun worked- full auto, semi as well.

OK off on a tangent pining for the good old days:)

    Thanks Fellas!

There should be a date code (e.g., IC = 1982)!!!

If there is no two letter date code or mo/yr date stamp (for police trade in) you can check out this thread:
    https://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-refere...ort-years.html

    It appears 1982
Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

Couldn't find a date code on the gun and the charts you posted are not any help.

Would HK be able to help me out with serial number?

Might I suggest that you post a photo of the right side of your pistol, so folks can assist you?

How is the SN list no help exactly? Numbers before and after yours are listed as being manufactured in 1982. They were serialized consecutively. If you need more contact HK cs I guess.

Ha! I didn't notice. Was that a lucky coincidence or did you check the list?

    Hey Elvis, Tony!
A related question - do P7M8 mags have to have the date codes matching to the pistol's?
Also what's up with the Ie(lower case e) coded mag as opposed to IE? Thank you!
