This is where I am. I just picked up an OD green 2004 .40 USP (full size) V7. I love it. So much that I just ordered a new USP 9 full size V7. USPs just have a mojo to them. My P30L in 9mm is a sweet shooter as well. I tend to like full size guns more.

Gotta say that the $599 light LEM P30L .40s on CDNN right now are hard to ignore.

It does seem like .40 is taking a backseat to 9 these days, and deals to be had because of that. So my vote is for a USP .40 V7 or one of the P30L light LEMs on CDNN.

The deals on P30s at CDNN are super tempting these days. I've got a V1 with .357 Sig barrel, and it's easily my favorite gun, supplanting my P30 V1 9mm. There are great deals on police trade-in .40 USPs out there as well. Good luck with your choice. Picking a new HK is a nice problem to have!

Oh yeah!! Just took recent ownership of the P30L V1 LEM .40, which I bought from CDNN two weeks ago, and have put 300 rounds downrange thus far. LEM is sweet, and the gun is a tack driver. Your .357sig barrel. How does it run with your P30? Been thinking about the .357sig barrel for my P30L offered by RCM. I recall that Barth did a review on his RCM .357sig barrel he used on his P30 last summer. He experienced a couple of FTFs, but overall appeared to be satisfied given it was aftermarket.

I have the regular barrel, not the L, but mine has been flawless. I'm into my third case of Speer 125 grain Lawman, and not a single malfunction of any type. I carry Underwood 125 Grain Bonded (Speer) bullets. I have had no issues whatever with the RCM barrel.

I would vote for a brand new USP 40 Tactical for $756 delivered.

I am curious as to why you prefer the Full Size over the Tactical?

Is the trigger on the full size as good/adequate enough compared to the Tactical?
