I was in Orlando in March and stopped at the StraightShoot store in Apopka. This pic was taken there and it didn't look mustard-like. It was more of a darker tan to me.

Looks pretty cool. Can almost pass it off as gold. I suppose worst case I can always get it painted at some point if I want it to match the full size. Hopefully the prices of all the colors start to come down a bit

At the time I was there, they had 5 on display and was told that's all they got left. I was actually looking for the same tan-colored HK45 but all were sold out. They were also $695. I think you will like the color. I have a HK45T tan and the HK45C is darker and richer in color.

Bogart, deeply appreciate your pics and response. I am now inclined to buy this gun.

They are cheaper because HK doesn't make the hk45 in the US anymore since shutting down the Newington operation and discontinued the color matched guns, so any remaining for sale are closeout inventory.

Current hk45 guns seem to be imported from Germany again. Time will tell if they resume building them here in the Columbus facility or keep importing them.

Price has nothing to do with US plant. Colored guns were limited and discontinued before all that business. I was told by Shootstraight last June that they got an overrun on a contract below dealer cost. Great people. I've bought two OD Compacts and One Mustard so far, but the $695 is the cheapest they've been as it was $750... I see another mustard in my future....The Bogarts photo above is pretty accurate for a representation. They are very cool.
