Default SP5K - Is it just me - Front grip weird angle

Online and in person I have witnessed that the SP5K front hand grip with all its beauty always appears to be bent downward to the bore axis.

Its like Oberndorf worked for 6 months to retool the metal shelf and plastic lower different from the SP89 and then on Friday at 4:30 PM before the mass production start, someone remembered they needed a front hand guard still.

Or maybe I am missing the tactical advantage of the downward droop to the SP5K hand guard.

    Anyone else noticed this?

Will be the first thing I replace, well after the bulky Picatinny rail accessory on my future SP5K.

    Thanks

I fully agree and thought perhaps it was just me seeing that. Personally, I like the foregrip on the SP89 better.

What do you plan to use in place of the OEM Picatinny?

It was the first thing I replaced, after pulling off the MLI rail. Like you, I noticed the downward cant and it just doesn't like up to my eye like the SP89 handguard. I went with a -K vertical grip - after installing my sear in a Picto-Ambi-Burst pack, along with the HK-marked -PDW folder. Without the top rail, and configured as stated, it looks classic.

Indeed, the classics rule! I really appreciate the new stuff HK is doing, but I gravitate to those classics of my 80's youth.
