Default P30SK - Can you shorten the trigger pull?

    Hey guys,

New to the forum and new to the wonderful world of HK. I recently treated myself to a P30SK as an everyday carry gun. I love everything about it except for one thing: The trigger pull is really long and it breaks really far back. Is there any way to change that? I have shot for years, but don't have a lot of technical knowledge about guns, so forgive me if that is a stupid question. But for example, with my extremely large hands I tend to do better with my Glock and S&W Shield, with triggers that break farther out front and don't make me pull it all or almost all of the way back. I'm assuming there's probably some issue around having to pull the trigger so far because you have to cock the hammer all of the way, but is there a way to change that ratio, where less of a pull moves the hammer more in proportion? Clearly it's something I'd leave to a professional, but I thought I'd ask here first and see if it was even a thing.

    Thanks

Are you on the V1 or V3?
You're aware of the apples hammer vs. oranges striker platforms?

Lol. Uhhhhhh, I dunno. It's new. I've only had it for a few months. I would assume v3, but I don't know for sure. I'll have to check. I am aware of the obvious difference between hammer vs. striker fired guns, to the extent that one has a hammer one has a striker, but does that also necessitate a certain kind/length of trigger pull?

I swear I'm not an idiot. I'm a 42yr old college educated man. Just not too knowledgeable about all things guns, as my post and replies would indicate all too clearly.

They are not release dates, both are current and available: V1 is LEM DAO and V3 is DA/SA. Then there’s a V3-S (Safety Lever) DA/SA, the ver I have.
The V3’s have the hammer spur where you can cock the hammer, the V1 has the bobbed. Which hammer is yours?

And the $M question, have you actually shot (or just dry fired) it?

I'm fairly certain I have the V3-S. I has the exposed hammer and a safety lever.
I have taken it to the range 2-3 times and dry fired it as well.

Unfortunately, with a V3, there is no way to shorten the trigger pull. Having said that, you could convert it from a V3 to a V4.1 LEM (unofficial conversion) and that would reduce the pull by 1/3 (10mm instead of 15mm).

Buy a VP9SK, striker trigger more what you're likely used to, and definitely shorter pull than P30....then you'll have two, and be looking for the next HK to add to your collection.

I started in Oct 2015 with a VP9, now I have like 8 HKs, and looking for another.

Can you convert the V1 to V4.1?

Of course, and much less expensive than going from a V3 --> V4.1.
