I’m still curious how you press the decocker, the gun fires and your thumb doesn’t get injured...?

DING! DING! DING! It would seem to me the slide recoil would snap off your thumb in the process.

As it has been pointed out several times in this thread, that just doesn't happen. A recoiling slide doesn't have anywhere near enough force to hurt your thumb in that way.

Here is a video of a guy using a 10mm glock to do this. Feel free to skip about 1:30 in where he actually does it with a single thumb.

One day Buddah was sitting under a tree.
A knight walked up and said: "You look like a Pig."
Buddah replied: "And you look like a god."
The knight, obviously puzzled asked: "What makes you say that?"
Buddah replied: "My son, we see in others what we see in ourselves."

While that may not be the case in this video you also need to note that he was prepared for the recoil and was likely pushing hard on the slide as one can extrapolate by the way his thumb appears in the video. A loose thumb that isn't prepared would likely have suffered at least some damage. Albeit maybe ripping off your thumb is a bit of an exaggeration but still you likely would not be doing so hot

I don't think I can decock a P30 with a loose thumb. In addition, comparing to a Glock, some of slide's energy in this case will be absorbed by cocking a hammer back and having to compress hammer spring.

I'm not saying it wouldn't hurt, but even unaware, it is not going to cause any serious damage. There just isn't enough force at play...

Either way I think we can both agree that it would not be a great experience either way

Instead of guessing and assuming, why not just try it sometime.

You will be VERY surprised how LITTLE force the slide actually has.
