Default Funny how things change in the gun store

I went to a shop today to look at a SIG P239. Its been there awhile. Technically used, but unfired. SAS model for 675 bucks. I had a couple of gift certificates to boot. So I planned on picking it up.

    However.....

They also had a VP9sk. After the gift cards and customer appreciation days discount, I left with it for right at $500 bucks. I kinda grumbled at myself as I left, since when I go to get one thing but leave with a different one it kinda doesn't always work out. Got home, ripped and stripped it, clean and lube, and then went out back and shot it.

Gentleman, there will be no regretting this purchase.

I think I shoot it better than my full size VP9. Short mag, extended mag, didn't matter. It lays 'em right in there. Feels perfect. This might be the most fun to shoot gun I've ever had, and I've had a bunch. I started at 5 yards and moved to 12 (my usual KD to work) and this little gun drops the rounds in with zero effort. Pretty forgiving too. I rushed a few, and still had center hits. A few more magazines, a sight upgrade, and a VMII, and I've got myself one hell of a carry gun.

    Highly recommended. Get one.

Congrats on your new Vp9sk! It's on my list...I keep getting full size guns for some reason (mags). Anyhoo, thanks for the report and post a pic when you can.

    Cheers

I agree with you wholeheartedly. It's the best striker-fired subcompact on the market (by a wide margin), in my opinion.

Backside of the 12 yard target. Pulled a few, but couldn't care less. Doubles and failure drills. I'm pleased.

Congrats on the pick up. Its funny...I was once very hot for a P239, but came home with an HK too- p30sk.

I have both the P239 and the VP9 full size. The 239 is a really special piece for a special purpose. There may not be a better single stack dA/SA 9 on the market than it is but it is expensive. I prefer the VP9 but my wife has the 239 and loves it. I think the main reason is because she likes the grip and its ease of racking the slide
