Question HK SP5K - Trouble getting mags to catch/stick?

I've tried to insert the mags using various angles, pressure, and slamming them from the bottom...

Seems like 25% 1/4 of the the time, I have to really jam the mag in there hard in order to get it to stay put.

A good deal of the time it seems to appear as if it's holding in the mag well, but will wiggle loose with some wiggling.

Any idea on what's causing this? Or if there's a certain way to insert these mags?

I can see with 30 rounds, them being heavy, and needing to be thrown in there hard, but not sure...

this ^^^^^^ is the first question. the MP5 platform should be loaded with the action/bolt open.

additionally, you should down load mags a round or two. these two things should resolve the issue you are having.

Congrats on the SP5K! Glad you were able to find one.

One other mag related note; if you ever get one of those US made 38 round mags and in a fit of unquenchable urges decide if 38 works, 40 is better, DON'T. Bolt open or closed, it won't lock in reliably. They call it a "38" round mag for a reason!
