Default HK SP5K - First Red Dot - Where To Zero?

Picked up a Sig Romeo 3 Reflex Sight Red Dot for the HK SP5K.

Where should I zero it at? 50 yards?

i think you will get several different answers but my advice is to zero it at where you think you will be shooting. i did mine at 25 yards personally and just make adjustments from that point going out to around 50.

That's the only real answer. Do you shoot at an indoor 25yd range? Zero it there. Will you be mostly shooting at 50yds? Zero it there. Wherever you zero, though, be sure to identify and remember where your POI is at closer ranges where height over bore of the optic will come into play, especially if you plan to use the weapon defensively.

I zero @20 yds, which also puts you on @80 yds, more or less. You'll be a little high @50 yds and a little low @100 yds.

Is this a range toy or a hd/sd gun? I'd zero it at 25meters, or whatever range distance you have available and then reconfirm your zero at longer distances if you go to an outdoor range and see what hold overs you need for varying distances.

25Y is the traditional zeroing range for SMG's of any type.

HK sights the MP5 from the factory with 3" groups at 25 meters (82 feet). Sames goes for the UMP.

Zeroing at 25 yards should also put you on at 100 yards too, kinda like the 50/200 zero with M4's.

Do you have more info on this? I was under impression 9mm had about a 12" drop at 100 yards
