Do the ports on the side help with recoil? On my longslide they are more on top.

Looks great! Nice grouping also, push it out a little, I'd like to see your targets at about double that. I usually shoot at 10 yards (9ish meters), my groups are like that good with only with my hair trigger pistols though.

Shoots flat and accurate! Even makes the Dot Torture not so torturous.

Based on his target, double the distance would double the group. He would still only drop a point on dots 2 and 7 and maybe 8. Shooting 48/50 at 8 meters is fine shooting, wouldn't you agree?

Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing the photos.
If "Dirty Harry" had been made in 1996:
"I know what you're thinking: 'Did he fire twelve shots or only eleven?' Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being this is a HK MARK 23, the only offensive handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?"

They actually wrap around to the top. Pretty good comp, +p like a standard.
