Default Excited to be an HK owner again, New HK P8 A1

Last time I posted on this forum I had just picked up my first ever handgun and first HK, my HK45. Well after a few thousand rounds over the time I had it, I decided to sell it. While I loved the gun and it ran flawlessly, I didn’t care for it’s aesthetics or it’s Spider-Man grip. So I grew restless and traded it in. What I really wanted that they didn’t have at the time was a USP45 so I settled on the fnx 45 tactical. Well I’ve been HKless for far to long since and my buddy at the gun shop dropped this in front of me since he knew I was still after a usp. Well, it’s not a “usp” but still a usp. For 980 cad I won’t nit pick.

And since who doesn’t like gun picture, here’s my old hk45

Better hold on to this one. That is a beautiful and rare, for these shores anyways, piece of mother ship goodness.

So do you need to push the safety up on this instead of pushing it down like a USP.

Yes. when it?s on safe, the lever is in the way of your thumb. It has its pros and cons. it is a lot more noticeable when it?s on safe, which leads me to believe it will reduce the chances of trying to shoot it with the safety still engaged. But is a different draw motion if you want to holster it on safe. More like an M9.

Everyone?s saying these are rare, What?s so rare about these? Isn?t it just the German army?s version of the M9 vs 92fs (same gun, but different markings and slight changes.) the m9 isn?t exactly rare, are these still in production and tens of thousands in circulation? Just curious about what makes this rare.
