I am taking an interest poll. If HK produced a new USP in 10mm / Sig. 357 Combo which gun would interest you enough to purchase. Only one could be produced.
1. 10mm / Sig .357 Match
2. 10mm / Sig .357 SD
3. 10mm / Sig .357 Custom Combat

First reaction was that an SD version would be cool, but then I realized, I'd probably never put a silencer on it since 10mm and 357 SIG are hot supersonic rounds anyway. Custom Combats have never struck me as being too exciting, so why not aim for the moon with a Match?
(Realistically, though, I'd buy any configuration USP FS in either of those calibers.)

The reason to suppress is not always to make your firearm silent.
In a firefight it is incredibly useful if your groups weapons and the opposing forces weapons have a significantly different sound signature.
That being said, I have worked up a sub-sonic 240 grain JHP for use in the integrally suppressed SMGs that the Feds are considering as a replacement to the remaining MP5/10 inventory
I would buy at least 1 of them if not 2. I’ve been looking for a USP .40 EXPERT to do just that with. There’s a company in Montana; Jarvis Ink. That makes custom 10mm barrels for HK pistols! Great idea!![emoji1363]
Dan Wesson, use to make a 460 barrel that could shoot 45 acp, 45 super, 45 Detonics, 460 rowland and 45-winmag....if they could fit this to a mark 23 I’ll buy in a heart beat. In addition to the question, if they could make it for a mark 23 in 10mm it would be great, but perhaps mark 23 barrels for: 9mm, 40 s&w, 10mm auto, 357-magnum and/or 44-magnum would be nice...yes I’m dreaming too but only for utility as it’s easier to buy the barrels for the gun you already own vs. buying completely new guns.
10mm seems to becoming in vogue again unlike .357 Sig. HK needs to be ahead of the trend and just drop a 10mm offering. Sig has the 220 Elite and Legion series and I must say they’re doing it right, right now.
I hope HK brings out some cool offerings to shot show this year
Thought I'd read somewhere that Hk wasn't able to get FS USP to work perfectly in 357 Sig for some reason?
Hence only USPc, P2000, & P2000SK handguns were manufactured in that caliber? I own all three BTW...
There were some MP5Ks produced in 10mm.
Maybe a SP5K/10mm? Wouldn't that be nice?
I would definitely be interested in any HK in 10mm. I carry one (Glock 20) with Underwood ammo while deer hunting in VA to take care of any unforeseen run-ins with black bear.
Gun history is FULL of guys thinking 'There has to be a hotter/better round'
Elmer Keith and his idea of the 44 magnum is BUT ONE example of one guy pushing the envelope
that's all this is
If that example is too distant, try Chris Murray (AMU M4 guru) who developed the 6.8 round as an upgrade to the M4.
Like I said, gun history is FULL of one person making a difference.
I'm sure all sorts of firearms have failed spectacularly in some instances. But that doesn't stop the next guy from trying the next idea for an upgrade in the firearms industry.
Progress is like that - two steps forward, one step back

This is the kind of thinking that got us from pointy stick to here. Change and experimenting is good. I would like to see a USP go 5" full slide in 10mm. But if they did jump on the 10mm idea it would probably be a slightly tricked out standard full size 45 frame USP. For them what are we really looking at. A 45 slide cut with a 10mm breech face, 10mm barrel, already existing .40cal extractor, 10mm magazine, RSA already does 45super. Oh what it's like to dream about that next improvement/jump forward. Those of you that said MK23, oh yes and a flush length barrel option for those not in free states.
An interest poll for calibers, I like it.
I would choose 45 super. Reason is I keep my Tac and mark 23 stock, and still get about the same terminal result as a 10mm. There isn't a 2 or 4 legged animal that can survive a well placed shot in Florida. . 45 super makes a good hog round.
I have no desire to shoot 460 Rowland from a handgun, but that is personal preference.
