I disagree with your guy's premise that HK is waiting for any sort of standardization before introducing optics ready VPs. If that were true, they could have already introduced some of the other models like the Maritime and Long. I offer a different hypothesis:

I think HK is waiting for us to buy more VP9s and VP9SKs and then some more VP9 colored frames and then some VP9s with cerakoted slides. Once the sales curve on these different variations of the standard VP9 starts to drop and HK has squeezed all the money it can from the VP9 market, THEN they will inject some new excitement into that market by offering VP9 'Euro' variants like the M, OR, L, etc. I think the US and Euro markets are very different and there's still more revenue for HK to soak out of the US VP9 market before diverting our attention to new toys. I think HK is becoming more market saavy than ever before.

You might be right, but with optics market blowing up, especially for competition shooters, they are missing a lot of money now on a vp9L with optics ready mounts. The carry optics division of uspsa is really getting popular, and the vp9 would be a great gun for it. I know several people who put optics on them, but it sure would be nice to not have to send it off to do it. Hopefully these pistols will be available sooner rather than later.

BTW HK mounting plates are very clever, with much more threads available for sight mounting screws to grip on than in M.O.S. plates.
Thanks - I've been waiting on one of these for a year...

I can’t see the date time stamp on these posts so I apologize if they are old. You do not have to mill your HK to put an RMR on it. You can buy a vortex red dot and put a dove tail mount on in place of your rear sight. No damage done and you can always put the rear sight back in. As for HKs market strategy, no idea but I keep buying em ;)

QUICK VP9L update. I think Most won't like it.

Those cuts in the slide that were showing up in pictures from europe from trade shows are now in the model pictured of the SFP9L on the Actual HK Europe Website.

Previous pictures were without the cuts and had cocking serrations.

Looking on Google now it is hard to find those older images and now no longer shows the L in the image stacks.

    The web was scrubbed.

I get they needed to shave weight from the longer slide, to keep the slide speed consistent, that makes sense. cutting all the way through the slide seems like it would allow for crud to get into the slide easier though?

also noticed the now show the push button mag release, and a model with an ambi manual safety? I had not previously noticed the manual safety option....

I wouldnt worry about those cut outs one bit, for run and gun fun on the competition levels or at the local ranges.

I doubt you will find many of the high speed, low drag-secret squirrels running them. Based on the fact that is going to invite alien objects to find their way into that area.

Personally, those cut outs are a no go for me. I dont want a chance of a twig or some other object getting caught up in that cheese grater and locking it up.
Dissapointing really and I will just keeping rolling with the P30L.

I will let some of you guys beta test the pee pee out if it, before I jump into the frey.
