But by doing so OR pistols left production queue and with all LE and mil sales HK got recently it's hard to put them back on production line and not screw delivery times on contracts.
    2. Other companies can afford to release product and meh... if it doesn't work, we will upgrade it along a way. This is a case both with Glock and CZ - both companies are known to release problematic products. HK can't afford that luxury, because once they did that, all confidence in HK build over decades is gone overnight and they can basically close the shop. Because HK sells on confidence. They can do small tweaks along the way (like with stronger recoil spring in VP9) but they can't afford anything to show up as plain wrong. Same philosophy applies for example to Aimpoint.

TL;DR HK is taking time with everything, if you have problem with that, change brand to one that release "early access" products to everyone.
This is the best post I've seen on the forum in some time.

My department is going to authorize the VP9-B in the very near future. Likely, after holidays. I got one, love it, never had a gun feel so good in my hands. Does anyone know when or if a VP9SK-B is in the pipeline?

Dobbs is the regional government sales manager for Aimpoint, Inc. USA, and also the co-founder of HiTS (a training company), along with Darryl Bolke, who is (was) on here as nyeti. All around good dude who obviously also has industry connections.

See above ^^^. The Aimpoint connection is that they will unveil the slide mounted ACRO optic at the SHOT and apparently HK has been working on the adapter plate for that ACRO.

"What's for breakfast?" said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?"
"I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully. "It's the same thing," he said.”

I hope you’re right! I think this is the third year I’ve heard it though. I guess we’ll be finding out soon. I just picked up a new OR pistol from another brand I haven’t fired yet. I would like to part ways with it for a VP9OR.

I don’t get why people are hesitant to just mill a VP9 slide.

For one, many companies say that it shouldn’t be milled and won’t do it. Companies like ATEi. Secondly, with the red dot industry changing quickly, you’re marrying a footprint that may or may not be around tomorrow or your choices may change as technology changes.

For example, I have a Glock milled for an RMR. It’s my daily carry gun. The RMR is a fantastic sight and the only one I’d trust on a defensive tool at this time. However, for a gaming gun, I’ve found the DPP to be superior in many ways. Now the aimpoint may be coming to market. I cannot install either on my Glock.

I have three VP9 direct milled slides, but I would really like a factory optic option. Direct milling limits you to one specific optic, and with a tight pocket, it is even possible a replacement optic of the same type might not fit without modification, if there is variation between the optic your slide is milled for and the replacement optic.
