Default Weird peeling/cracking of polymer in P30SK

Good day folks. My name is Brandon and I am new here. Thank you for providing such a great resource.

On July 4th of this year I purchased a P30SK V3 and have placed about 400 to 500 115 FMJ "range" rounds in it. Anyway, the other day I noticed that the polymer is peeling (see picture) on the inside of the frame. I don't know what this section is called. Is this typical of HKs? Should I call HK-USA? The pistol is functioning fine so far.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hmm, I can't see it. No it's not typical of HK's .

Looking at it again, it looks like something has shaved it or caught an edge on it. I've never seen and HK polymer de-laminate, but I suppose there's a first time for everything. I would keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't worse and look for anything catching there on accident.

A voice from the past whispers in my ear, “Brethren, keep your powder dry.”

Where exactly is it peeling? I see nothing strange in your pic.

I think it is normal wear. Both my p30 and p30sk show the same thing, and are still running well after 1000s of rounds.

    heh...

it's molding flash, over the rails. it's nothing to worry about. it'll wear off as time goes on. some people get silly and try to peel it off with an exacto knife. personally I use it as an indicator of usage/wear when buying used.
