For my eyes, I prefer the factory luminescent sights. When I do install night sights on a gun, I have to use Trijicon HDs or Ameriglo I Dot Pros or similar sights. I can't pick up regular 3-dot night sights anymore.

Meps are actually very usable sights. If comes with those I leave them otherwise TFX Pros as HDs though nice (I have 3 sets) are pretty tall and sharp.

I always go with NS on everything, no matter what pistol is on my pillow any given night, I'm assured at least I can see some sight picture if I need to, instead of pitch Black nothing.

It really comes down to priorities

+1 TooSixy (I see what you did).
The hk meprolight sights are not the best. I kept stock/OEM/German hk luminescent sights on mine.

From your posts, it sounds like you live in an area that doesn't have too many gun stores local to you. Otherwise, I'd recommend to head on down and compare them hand in hand. With those prices that you're quoting tho, I'm kinda wondering why you don't order online. They're kinda pricey, unless you live in a restrictive state. Or Unless your FFL fees would negate the difference.
For me, I gotta go with the glow sights too. My eyes ain't what they used to be, and I pick up the white dot a lot easier. They are bigger. The aperture for the fiber optic, is kinda small, and it all just blends together into a blur for me.
And yes, when charged, the ARE bright. To the point that they are visible in the shadow of my jacket, if it happens to swing open.
A couple of my other pistols have a fiber front sight, and I have a hard time picking those up, in really bright light.
For ME, the only advantage to the fiber sights is that they are shaped to give a solid purchase if you're doing a one handed rack. But that's just for ME, with my limitations to my eyesight. So your preference, and eyesight could be different.

Learn to point shoot using muscle memory, and you don't need sights. My $.02 worth.

+1 on the photoluminescent. Love them on my VP9SK. Im the opposite on night sights, my eyes don't pick them up very well. I've never tried aftermarket ones though, just factory Sig's or FN's. Maybe that's my issue, regardless I love HK glowing sights!
