So, whatever is in the pipeline now for civilian sales is all it's going to be until the end of 2019. I haven't been able to verify that yet.
Thanks for that. That makes sense.

Opinion: If HK stops production of the USP series, then they should get to work on the P40k series of handguns. It would be exactly a USP with metal magazines, pic rail, some slide serrations and changeable grips(maybe). In other words cosmetic only. If you are going to make a full size pistol, make it robust like the USP45. If you are making a carry pistol, make a striker fired like the VP9SK.

Could contract production requirements also explain my question on another thread of why HK has been not participating on emerging, future developments, such as Army's subgun, 6.8mm and hybrid case ammo, and other initiatives?

HK has no plans to discontinue the USP series pistols or the Mark 23. The only USP pistols that have been discontinued are the USP40T and the USP45CT. Both of these pistols were discontinued a while ago.

Lest we forget that HK actually HAS TWO PRODUCTION LINES. One in Germany and one here in the US. IF I'm not mistaken that was one of the requirements of getting the US Military contract, they had to be produced here.

So technically HK does have two production lines. Probably a good thing. Doesn't help with the fact that most of the production for the next quarter (or two) is all tied up? Can't answer that one.

Basically for HK, it's a great problem to have, more buyers than they can address for the next few months. ANY COMPANY would love to have that problem.

So long as they don’t pull a SIG and sacrifice quality for quantity I would agree. It will also be interesting to see if HK’s increase in price if demand exceeds supply.

HK hasn't made that mistake yet.

If ANYTHING they had to lower prices BECAUSE sales lagged - mainly the two or three striker lines went on sale this past summer. Lowered the price AND threw in three extra mags. That is long gone.

You never know what is coming down the road, good OR BAD. We will all just have to sit back and watch it happen.

    THEN decide what to do.

The best thing that could happen for HK sales and it's many die hard followers of the USP series would be bring it back in the next year or two modernized with replaceable grip panels like the VP and P30 series. Just think how many new gun sales they would create by offering that..........Of course revenues and profit have never been the focus of HK, so probably won't happen.

Throw us large hand people a bone and at the same time do that for the HK45 series also :)
