I was like 2nd in on the original announcement, before the buying was open, but had to go to sleep before it opened up. :(

Feels bad, man. I'm not sure I want it at full price.

I think H&K Social Media Girl said it pretty well.

It's definitely not a kit to buy if you have to reason the kit to be worth it.

Yep, I will definitely buy one for one of my VP9’s, but would really like a solid factory RMR cut. Wonder if they’ll port the barrel? Can’t imagine why they wouldn’t offer it that way from the “git go”...

Probably because of the intended use, which is mainly competition. At the 2018 Carry Optics Nationals, the RMR was only used by five percent of the competitors, and porting would not be legal for Production or CO.

I thought of that too. But something about the fiber optic front sight hanging out where it can be smacked around doesn't appeal to me.

Since I had it on hand, I went ahead and switched out the front sight to a Dawson .100W x .170T, as I like a little more light between my front and rear sights. I'm going to hit the range tonight, so I'll let you know how I like it. I didn't dislike the factory fiber optic that comes on the L, it was just a little too thick for my tastes.

So I got impatient waiting for CompTac to make us a long slide holster, so I broke out the heat gun. About 30 seconds later (which was about 10 seconds too long), and presto...The long slide fits perfectly. While the front sight hangs out of the holster juuuust barely, there is enough distance between it and the sight channel, that I don't think there is any way to snag it on the draw. I'll get a new L model CompTac when they come out, but for now this is fine.

Anyone know the diameter of the front sight fiber optic rod?
