That's really cool! Thanks for the share of info Hyno!
Wonder what the damage to the wallet is going to be.
HK just posted this to their IG. Not a VP9 guy myself, but I am sure many of you will be happy.
I've been waiting for this for a long time. Will be great for uspsa. I don't know why it's not set up to take a red dot, though. They are a little late to the party when it comes to what people want these days.
if these work out, I'll pick one up, and have it milled for an RMR.

USP Tactical .45acp
HK 416 10.5" upper
HK45T (OD Green)
Looks like it will be available as a complete gun, if I heard correctly.
Also, since this is an entire kit, it may be that time will tell us if we can swap calibers on the same frame, with the kits.
Good to know. I don’t own a VP9 yet. I’ve been holding out for the sake of a long slide model. I would totally go buy a VP9 if the long slide was only offered as a kit. But if they are going to release a complete long slide VP9, then I shall hold out a little longer.
VP9 Sport Group! Oh, and couldn't HK find someone less dorky than that Derek guy?
A big interest of mine, is how long will it take for the aftermarket companies to come up with a 357sig conversion barrel. The thought of a longslide 357sig is kinda making me drool slightly! (especially if it has paddle mag releases and full ambi controls!)
There's other advantages to offering just the kit as well. Such as control states, where it may be difficult to get the pistol itself. Or, due to mag limitations, finding ones with compliant UPC numbers is an issue. OR states where yes, you can get them, but due to legal difficulties, sellers charge 2x, 3x or 4x times as much for the weapon. (This is of course, stating that the person buying, already has a regular VPx, or VPx frame).
There's the added convenience of (for me in MO/KS) not having to order it, go down to the FFL, file my paperwork, (most likely) wait three days, and then be able to go down and pick it up. Slides are listed as "gun parts" (where fully functional frames and receivers are listed as needing a FFL) so it can be ordered, and shipped straight to my door.
I can totally see where you're coming from Keith. Especially if you don't already own a compatible frame. HAHA as with all things HK and what they do and don't release here in the US, time will tell.
