The G43 feels like shooting a G19 but slightly "snappier" so to speak. I would say that the P365 recoil feels like using hot ammo.

Now having trained with both, the ergonomics and trigger of the P365 make it equal to the G43 and is smaller and holds more rounds. One of the guys I train with is sensitive to recoil due to medical issues. The P365 is beyond his threshold of tolerance for recoil.

If you do not have any issues like that, the extra recoil is not an issue and you will find that the P365 is a much more capable gun. Plus you can get a decent light if you are into that sort of thing and the stock sights are awesome. I might post pictures.
Have you tried Federal Personal Defense HST Micro, P9HST5S, 150gr JHP (ME 900 fps & ME 270 ft-lbs)? Syntech Action Pistol, AE9SJAP1, 150gr TSJFN (MV 870 fps & ME 252 ft-lbs) would be a good choice for range use.

Mea Culpa, Guilty as charged, "If" H&K made a pocket gun, I would buy it.
I love both the G42 for pocket (work safe) carry, and P365 for most casual (t-shirt & shorts) carry.
I'd rather HK not try to compete in this market and bring us U.S made G36s, 433s, and legacy roller locks instead.
And where are our U.S market SFP long slide and optics readys?

Not yet but I was thinking about trying them. That and the Sig branded P365 ammo

I have a P30SKS 9mm and I carry it in the front pocket of my Levi's using a Nemesis holster... it's a bit heavy and I have to tighten my belt a notch, but otherwise it works great!

Walther PPS (M1 with the HK type mag release) is my pocket gun. I try to stick to pistols made in Germany these days. I normally avoid striker fired pistols, but being able to thumb over the firing pin indicator during reholstering AIWB when I carry that way- I make an exception for the PPS.

another vote for the 365. it had production issues, but they've been resolved. nearest i can tell, any 365 built after july of last year is good. i replaced my G42 with one. just as small, larger caliber, more rounds, and i shoot it better. not a hard decision

An H&K pocket type gun like the 365 would truly be the peoples pistol
