Can you stone off the displaced metal where those high spots impinge on mating surfaces, and do it without changing angles or removing metal that belongs where it still remains?
I dont trust myself enough to do that, I'm thinking I will just leave it as is.

Maybe to let excess gas from firing suppressed to bleed out?

Is that something people actually do to these guns? I couldnt find any threads that referenced this type of wear on a usp tactical, ever. Which is why I reached out to HK for inspection

When the barrel is installed with the slide, it is near impossible to see this part of the barrel. I only noticed it once broken down during cleaning. And had to zoom really close with the camera to capture it.

And this thread is not intended in any way to bash HK or their customer service. Just sharing info about my crappy purchase experience. Was bought used by me so I inherited all risk.

Pics of the slide/barrel-hood locked up, pls. You can see the burr on slide transferring to hood.
Curious on why the slide was machined/modded (or a factory defect).

This is what I have. HK still has the gun and should be shipping back today. These were some of the photos I sent them. Second photo was the best angle I could get of the lock up. You can just barely see where it meets and the wear right there where it first start to move under the slide

I would agree, but a screwdriver would create a low spot on the slide where it dug in and also tear up the side of the slide. I do not see that here. I see two raised portions on the slide bevel that again (in my opinion) look like they are wearing into the barrel hood as each round fires.

A screwdriver would gouge a chamfer, not a burr.
That was the next question (although HK CS didn't say otherwise), as shown that is an HK barrel. The hood is actually pretty clean except for the peening from the slide.
I wonder if an AM TB was used and off-spec, with the HK returned when sold.

I guess anything is possible. There is however, very little wear on this gun on all components. We could probably rack our brains and never figure out the real reason. Just sucks that it happened to such a nice gun
