Default Solve this 9mm HK argument

    Among two LE experts-
Which is the softer shooter using 9mm +P ammo?
The P2000sk or P30sk? Assume both in DA/SA. And go!

    Softer shooting? +P ammo??

I think that is mighty subjective. You will not get a definitive answer.

Had both pistols. Love the P2000sk.

But I love the P30sk more. I currently have that one.

Any sub will be a bit snappy, even in 9mm. But felt recoil? I think that varies more from guy to guy than it does gun to gun. Ammo from the same box will generate the same impulse.

One guy says the P2000sk is easier on the hands, the next guy says no, the P30sk is the money.

I never noticed a difference. There may indeed by one (not measurable by feel in my opinion), but if there is, it is negligible.

I have shot both side by side with standard ammo. I would say the P30SK has slightly less felt recoil. The P30SK feels better in my hand therefore it feels better when it's being fired.

P30sk. Grip shape and how I grip it minimizes felt recoil better than the P2000sk. Plus it feels way better.

I have both. The P30sk may have a SLIGHT advantage on FELT recoil due to grip configurations. I carry the P30sk, only because it's LEM though.

Hmmm. I would say.... it depends. The P30sk grip will ‘help’ the shooter grip the gun better if their hands fit the grip well. Better grip on gun usually results in less felt recoil. However, for me, I think the P2000sk (or even P2000) is built to withstand more crap and will help the shooter even more with dampening recoil if the shooter installed a grip sleeve. Its got flat sides while the P30sk has curves (in all the right places).

So out of the box, I’d say P30sk if the shooters hand fit it.

If the shooter has time to install a Hogue with a finger groove cut out? Then I’d say P2000sk.

I guess I need to get a P2000sk one of these days. I have the P30sk and never noticed any 9mm snappiness...

My opinion is that it is 9mm and recoil is irrelevant. I could see someone whining about the grip perhaps.
