No. HKs are built to the same exacting standards and quality regardless of year.

Nope! B series is just manufactured more recently. I would buy either with total confidence. I bought the AE as it was there at the right moment. I do like the A series markings - laser engraved? The B series doesn't have dark serial and date code as shown in Voodoo's picture posted above.

Looking at Voodoo's pic just made me realize that I missed my chance at another Morlock casing or was that Werner then? Not sure of the break point... either way I miss the casing packet and test targets. It is a sickness, indeed.

If I am not mistaken, AE guns came in a black plastic case with two HK logos, one on each side. These cases came with the the color-framed HKs which were release in the same year and same date code.

Let me see if I can find a pic of that case.

    ETA: Here we go.

@Voodoochile1981 Does your AE USPc stainless come with the same case?

It is very interesting to note that the case picture shows the Jagd Sport logo, as does Voodoo's slide, while mine does not?

I've never read about the Jagd-Und Sportswaffen, or if I did, I've long forgotten. Any history about that? Just guessing, an import subdivision of HK which indicates mine is an early 2004 and Voodoo's is the later? Or is it the opposite?

My case does have the dual HK logos in each corner. According to my warranty card I bought the gun in late 2005, so it had been sitting a while. I'm not sure how to determine when in 2004 it was made.

I did not think that the extended magazine floor plates were around for the USPc that early--- did not recall the test casing!!!
Maybe I need more data on the USP.

I do remember that mine came stock with the two extended floor plate magazines. I just looked over my case and I don't see anything resembling a born-on date, so I'm not sure if mine is an early or late production AE gun.
