Same here, in boxes till ready to use, it's bone dry here. The USP 45 is always out tho, ready if needed. =)

I have never had a problem with the boxes. Now pistol rugs.... That i have gotten rust after the range in like 3 days. I put it in there and had to work, just forgot, that made me mad.

Shouldn't be any issues if stored in a climate controlled environment.

Type of foam, open vs closed cell foam, makes a difference. Some of my HKs have been in factory boxes for 10 years. I put a dessicant pack in each and oil once a year or so. No worries, you'll be fine. You can also get Zerust tabs if you're really concerned.

You should be checking for humidity in your gun safe too. I have a humidity gauge in mine, along with a Golden Rod and Eva Dry.
I've also seen some foam get nasty and stick to the metal. Not sure if it's oil related or moisture though.

How long do you feel it’s ok to leave them packed up until I get moved? They are all (besides a couple edc’s) unloaded, lubed and properly wiped down and oiled for short term storage. So how long are they ok in their cases until moved and properly reinstalled into their “safe spaces” . Sorry couldn’t resist the wording. Shouldn’t be over a few weeks (3ish). Thanks.

Probably not if you're packing and moving.
