    Default P30L - First Impressions

I picked up my new P30L last Thursday, and today went to my local range to run 100 rounds through it. First off, I don't claim to be a marksman, but I can hit what I aim at, at least most of the time. I placed the target down range about 25 feet. Just a little past the 7 yard marker. The way that I usually practice is shoot about a round every 4 seconds. Mainly trying to recover from recoil and try of course to hit the same spot.

The gun is fabulous to say the least. It fits my hand well, I used the largest back strap and side panels. The sights are easy to align on a target, even with my old eyes. The only thing I see so far is maybe a shorter reset on the trigger would be to my liking. It seems a bit long. And maybe a bit less pull in SA. It fed and ejected perfectly, no issue what so ever. All I did before going was a drop of oil on the rails and points of contact.

I can see this easily becoming my favorite pistol.

Congrats to you! Not a bad target grouping at all. As you acclimate to your P30L and put more rounds downrange, you'll see tighter groupings for sure. Enjoy!!

Thanks, I hope to get a little tighter groups. But I don't know with my eyes. I have perfect vision for distance due to Lasik 11 years ago, 20/20 right eye, 20/15 left eye. But at arms length, the sights aren't all that crisp. I went to the smaller diamonds next, harder for me to draw a bead on them.

There is a P30L about an hour from me in a shop for $475. It’s been very tempting to go pick up.

Clean rails to get all the factory grease off,
Clean the barrel, scrub the inside of the slide, frame, etc etc.

Then hit the range again & repeat.

    She gets better!
Clean the hell out of her first time, after that, as desired ost use.

You better go buy it now, before someone else does at that price it won't stay long.

Congrats!! The p30 series are fantastic pistols! The trigger is not the best, but with practice it can be run very well and the gun is shockingly accurate!!
