    friend showed me that mod. i wasn't aware of it. but, just looking at the pic, i'm not sure it solves my problem. the pivot is still built really large, it looks like. i need it flatter, not the lever

    I did not know it's possible. Can you remove it completly on one side?

    I'm also a lefty with small-medium hands and haven't noticed an issue with the right hand lever on the P30 series. The thing is if it doesn't work for you there are many suitable replacements. The USP compact is an excellent EDC firearm that should serve you well.
    Save the whales. Redeem them for valuable prizes.

    Then this grip is the fatal flaw, why use it.
    Even among my HK's the controls placement are non-constant, there is no rule to use thumb-forward. I use one/my grip across several guns and can still punch holes in the black/bulls, the whole point.
    And you can't/shouldn't use a thumb-forward on a snubby/revolver, neither do I do thumb-over-safety on my 1911's.
