    Default Hk 45c question

I have an hk45 full size and the slide has German antler markings and all. Just picked up a used hk 45c with the non Spider web grips (which I prefer now) and the slide has no markings other than HK 45c .45 auto. Any insight?

HK45Cs are made in the US. I just bought a new Hk45ct, and it also had no markings on the slide. Not sure when that stopped.

Date code is under the rear sight, rest of the markings have been eliminated to keep costs down IIRC.

All HKs (and any other small arms) produced in Germany have marks like this.

Eagle over N. Eagle is German Federal mark. N for nitrocellulose powder tested/ approved.

Antlers for the Ulm proof house. There are others. Old Sig Sauers had a had swatted mosquito looking thing ( supposed to be a leaf) for Keil I think. Some Walthers have 3 crowns. Some have antlers.

Two letter date code. Not all manufacturers but most. Sometimes a number. Sometimes alpha numeric.

Only the serial number is under the rear sight - haven't seen a date code there.

While this is now true, there was a decent batch made in Germany when the gun was first introduced. It has the DE stamp along with the proofs.

2 is 1 and 1 is none. Until the Mark 23.

Yes I thought so as well. I remember someone offered me one as trade when I was selling off my gun collection to pay alimony once upon a time. I thought that it was proof marked.
