Default Is there a VP 40 Slide Kit?

Seems like purchase of a complete VP 40 slide assembly and some 40 mags would give me a dual caliber platform. Possibly three calibers if I could get a 357 Sig barrel as well.

I really don't want to buy another complete handgun because I'm paring down.

Can you purchase a VP 40 slide kit for the VP9?

A second question. My understanding is the VP9 and VP40 frames are identical and that the only difference between the two is the slide assemblies. Is that correct?

Yes. There’s a thread where someone said that the “frame says VP9/VP40,” but I have no idea what they were talking about as it doesn’t.

I have a VP40 side kit, two 40 mags, and a .357 Sig barrel on the way. Going to be a lot of range time coming up!

I recently purchased a VP 40 slide with barrel, etc. for one of my extra VP9 pistols. Picked up a few 40SW mags for it. It’s a very simple way to broaden the capabilities of the VP platform. In my case the VP40 slide (with barrel) was $400. I suspect I might even be able to find a 357Sig barrel for it if they make them. I did a similar thing recently for my new P2000SK—added a 40SW slide assembly and later a 357Sig barrel.

Rim Country Machine has the .357 barrels in stock for a reasonable price.

I got my slide and mags in today from that Gunbroker link and they are in new condition. Probably won't be able to get to the range until late next week.

Just so we're clear, in reality the value of .357 Sig over Luger is it's velocity.

You can get a rim job barrel, but they will not post, email, or reply at all regarding the velocity they're getting out of their non-polygonal/land and groove barrels. So quality, competently hand-loaded 9x19 out of a factory HK barrel is likely faster.

I've been trying to beat it out of them for two+ years; but it just seems like they either,
    A) Literally make barrels they have never tested over chronos.
    B) Will not respond to customers that ask questions of any scientific relavence, whatsomever.
    C) Will not disclose the lackluster performance of their inferior quality Shiite.

It's like saying "CBD" cures migraines, cancer, depression, backpain and insomnia; but we have no data to back that up.
It's like buying an M car/AMG and dropping a Chinese motor in it.
2 + 2 = 4, whether you know how to count or not.
