    Default First handgun purchased

So I finally just got my first handgun ever. I've shot other peoples guns but never had my own. So my first gun happened to be a used HK USP 9mm x19mm I also researched and found out it was manufactured in 1995. I'm just curious what opinions everyone with more experience might have on this type if gun and if there is anything I should know?

Awesome weapon - congrats. Just buy lots of ammo and practice. Be safe. Oh, HK's multiply like rabbits.

Great purchase, congratulations! You picked an awesome pistol to be your first!
And welcome to the family 😉
Yes buy ammo. And magazines. The USP loves to shoot, and you will love shooting it.
I recommend breaking her in with 124 grain for about 300 rounds, then just about anything that you want to feed her, after that.
Some like to add the extended mag release paddles, which makes mag drops easier, but they don't work with some form fitting holsters.

Welcome to the site. I would look into getting a match trigger kit upgrade, jet funnel kit and perhaps either a threaded barrel for a future can and or night sights. You would have made your USP into a USPT. or a nice home defense gun.

Then start looking into pairing it with an mp5.

Also check out the reference section for some nice tutorials and reading. Good luck.

Great choice & congrats. Pandora’s Box has been opened lol. The USP is an absolute classic; an utterly reliable, no nonsense workhorse.

A fine choice for a first handgun. Check YouTube for a video of how to disassemble, clean, lube and reassemble. It has a basic manual of arms.
