Would be nice if someone would post a version without the erroneous "original striker-fire [sic] pistol" claim.

A 1911. I'm sure they could design one that is void of picky problems.

I think they tossed that idea around before, and for whatever reason decided against it.

    Read and enjoy

pistol-training.com » HK45 Interview with Ken Hackathorn and Larry Vickers

    TL;DR:

Ken: When Larry and I were talking on the phone, we both agreed the HK 1911 was a bad idea. Then we started talking about hey, they need to stay in their lane.

Yup. Who would the target market even be for a 1911? The SOCOM solicitation that brought us the Mark 23 more or less solidified a 1911 wasn’t wanted for that role. LE doesn’t use them so much these days. HK don’t make no civilian market guns.

Are we talking about just any kind of gun we can dream up? Well, I know exactly what I want! Lol!

I want an HK45 Compact frame, but I want the slide and rail length of the full size HK45. So, the compact grip with the 4.5 inch barrel. It would come stock with the plain black U-notch rear sight and a gold bead front. It would be a light LEM trigger. And it would come with an extra recoil spring assembly that is heavier than stock to make the gun hold up better for shooters who want to run .450 SMC. It would ship with three mags, one 8 round mag with the flat baseplate and two of the ten round elephant foot mags. And, if we're just listing off wild wishes here, HK would also develop an extended 15 round mag option you could buy separately.

Now, that's my dream HK. I'm sure there's probably some kind of technical limitation that makes it impossible to achieve, but that's what I see myself shooting in my fondest dreams. :-)

    I’m sure I’ve mentioned,this before.

    A 10mm or a 50 cal handgun.

I’ll buy two of each straight away!

Don't know how I forgot to add 10mm to my wish list. A carbon steel-frame (first part of my wish) USP Elite and Expert in 10mm would be amazing.

A Mark 23 with the same finish on the metal my USP's have, instead of that awful flaky paint that is on mine now.

    A P30L tactical.

USP match in 9mm for the US market.

P30L match, similar to the USP match (barrel length, trigger, match weight, etc..)
