I like using .45 hard cast ammo for the backcountry or sometimes even .45 super in my USP. Who knows if it's actually more effective than some of the other choices used for that application but I like it, hence why a VP45 would be cool.

    So not shot anything?

If youíre wanting more performance; why not wish for 10mm?

No, .45 ACP firearms donít cost anymore than their 9mm counterparts and that isnít the reasoning behind the switch. Glocks are virtually the same regardless of cartridge.

So the results donít match your choice, so it must be wrong? Weird. I guess the repeated test is wrong every time because your emotions are so fragile? Ironically, there are many situations which the .45 ACP performed much below 9mm and .40 S&W.

I donít care what you choose to use, but if you canít back up your choice with data, itís like saying your favorite color is blue. I donít give a F what color you prefer or what cartridge you shoot. But donít act as if youíre in the know when the data says youíre wrong.

I suppose I can lead a horse to water, but some just wonít drink.
Pump the brakes--- just jerkin' your chain!!!
You are not the first to describe me as "juvenile".

I want HK to buy the rights to the Glock 17 and then produce it exactly as Glock does but obviously have the HK logo on the slide rather than the Glock logo.

Wait just a minute, you might be onto something... instead of a VP45, we need a VP45GAP!

What a thread! Been reading thru all the entries. The OP simply wanted to know if a VP45 was in the works, and his thread ends up being a freaking flame war of 9 vs 45/44/40/380/357. LOL!!

Well, here's my take: If you can't put a round on target when it matters most, no cartridge in the world will make a difference. You might as well be carrying a water gun.

Absolutely, and I'm sorry for starting the mess, it wasn't my intention! LOL

funny, Glock actually tried to sell the original G17 design to HK in the early 80's'ish. He didn't have the manufacturing infra-structure, and HK had already designed and produced a polymer-framed gun (VP70). HK turned him down, they were deep in the P9 & P7 at the time. talk about a missed opportunity.

Wow, that's crazy, I did not know that. That's a blunder right up there with Blockbuster turning down the offer to buy Netflix.

45s are fun for watermelon hunting, but 9mm do the best for getting the job done.
    Stuff I like:
    off grid power systems
raeind.com - great mag loaders and personal service
loaddata.com - everything you need to know about re-loading
