If only more step by step guides could be this entertaining.

Great write up! Maybe I missed it - was there a date code when this change was made to the SP5K? Are they all setup this way or did this start at a certain date? Thinking of converting an SP5K to a host gun and I was hoping to know the date code this change was added if I start hunting for an SP5K.

Thanks for the informative post! I order the same carbide cutter and will make quick work of the block as soon as it arrives!

Depending upon your level of patience and whether or not your Block rotates, you may want to order two carbide cutters. By the time I had ground the block down, the cutter was getting really dull towards the end. The last little bit took seemingly FOREVER to finally cut through. Of course, that could have been just my perception, as the anticipation, smell of burning metal, and pending American FREEDOM was hanging thickly in the air. I know I was cursing very frequently towards the end, as I am sure my pet Barry the Bald Eagle will attest, as he waited in the “wings” with said celebratory beer. . .

I agree with PJT, order two cutters and it will go much more quickly. But not a overly tough job regardless.
