You can buy the newer larger mag release paddles and swap it out. Fairly easy to do assuming you have a roll pin punch.

Yea, I know. We were just wishing for future upgrades.

I love the HK45 look and feel, Its accurate and runs great, but its a bit big to carry for me. I carry P2000 or VP9sk. But I think the hk45 is huge improvement over the USP with pic rail, grip panels, rounded edges, but still not a carry gun to me. Its my HD gun with light on it, and my wife and kids shoot it well enough for home duties.
45 has lost popularity across the board along with 40, but its just the ebb and flow and will probably be popular again....

    Ergos trump capacity.

There is a point where a few extra rounds of ACP means ergo and weight considerations.

I tried to love the HK45, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out what it was for. The USP is noticeably smaller/more concealable, so for me that makes more sense as a .45 carry gun, if you're into that. And - it holds 12+1, so it wins, in my book.

If ergonomics are your primary concern, you hate the USP 45, capacity isn't near the top of your list, and you don't mind the size (using it for home defense or just range time)....then it's a really, really amazing 45. It just seems to fit a very small niche.

Also, I really hated the base plates on the magazines. Just awful. They're so different than all my other flat floor plate mags and made reloading a nightmare.
Agreed on the mag base plate. They add so much unneeded "dimension" to the mags. I'm 6'2" 200 pounds and I could conceal the HK45 if it wasn't for the mags.

You can sand that elephant toe down. It helps.

I've thought about it. I just ended up relegating my HK45 to a bedside gun and I carry a P30L, of which I have two.
