Wait till you shoot your USP .40sw, you're in for a very pleasant surprise...seriously
    Great price btw!

I would find a professional and have the color removed to make it black again, have the slide Parkerized, put a fresh set of night
sights on it...then shoot the rails off it

This is what a real one looks like that's not been painted. =)

Sounds like you got a great price anyway, the paint may leave a little to be desired, but congrats!

The USP was originally developed as a 40 pistol first before the other calibers followed. Back to its roots!

I said the same thing about my USP40, until I shot it. And then I converted to 10mm. ALL SMILES!

I got my KF USP 40 for $400 OTD, with a black eagle case and 5 magazines. Seriously, I only bought it for the case, ended up keeping it for 10mm Auto.

The .40 S&W....hated by most, but loved by a few (including me). For $299.98, what's not to love about your USP40?

I'm gonna see if the paint will come off without damaging the polymer, but I'm definitely not getting this refinished. It'd barely be worth more if it was mint condition.

That is a great analogy, could get in to some trouble!! I have several .40 USPs and it is amazing how much better they are to shoot than other brands of .40. I would say you stole that pistol.

Depending on what kind of paint it is, you could take it off with some 99% rubbing alcohol or acetone.
