    Default HK pistol conumdrum

So, despite being in the HK design world for a while now, I've entirely been living in clone land with various MP5, HK93, HK91 and HK21 clones.

Somewhat ironically, I've now come into possession of 3 HK pistols in a relatively short time frame. I actually started by taking a HK USP 45 C in trade, but I decided I didn't like it and an 8 round capacity "compact" gun that beefy was kind of stupid. So I traded it and a Ruger SR1911 Nigthwatchman in on an HK USP 9 and an HK45 with 5 mags each. Then, right after that, I ended up finding a good deal on a used HK USP 45 Stainless at a gun show and picked it up (I though I low balled the guy on an impulsive offer and he accepted it, leaving me with another gun).

Anyway, the conundrum comes in with the HK45 and the HK USP 45 Stainless. I have decided I don't need both and would rather free up some cash for something else. Where I'm torn is which one to let go. Whichever one I keep, I'm going to want to put a threaded barrel on it, to run with my SiCo Osprey 45 (I did already luck out and found a German USP 9 threaded barrel for $100 and put it on the USP 9 already)

    HK45

    Pros
    • Came with 5 mags
    • Is all black (I prefer that look)
    • Has upgraded sights
    • Has ambi safety (I'm left handed)

    Cons
    • While I like the contoured grip, it might be just a little bit narrow for my taste
    • Standard mag capacity is only 10

    HK USP 45 Stainless

    Pros
    • I think I slightly prefer the wider grip frame
    • Higher mag capacity

    Cons
    • Only have 3 mags, so at least $80 to get to same mag number as the HK45
    • Slightly rougher condition than the HK45 (both were used, but the USP was used a bit more apparently)
    • I really don't care for the stainless slide, so if I kept it, I might get it refinished or cerakoted black

Of course, the 3rd option is to sell or trade both of them and just buy a USP 45 Tactical (or dump in even more cash and spring for a Mark 23).

    Pictures for reference:

Just for the heck of it, HK USP 9 with "new" barrel

Either keep the stainless, and leave it as - is, or sell it.

For god's sake don't refinish it though.
    Own: HK91, SP5k, G36k, HK416, P30L, USP SD, USP9, USP9 FDE
Future: SP5? Assuming I can find an honest seller.

Your pictures are toast, can't see them. I would keep the Stainless USP 45.

If the HK45 grip is narrow for you ...and you have large hands, and you really want a HK in 45, get the Mk 23.

Keep the stainless USP, then order a threaded barrel for it and use your suppressor. Then have fun. Just my two cents.

Sell them both & get the Tactical. Threaded barrel, larger grip, 12 rounds, adjustable sights, better trigger.
Sounds like a winner to me.

Weird. I just redid them, so hopefully they work now.

Sounds like the consensus is to ditch the HK45 and either keep or replace the Stainless USP with a USP-T or MK 23.

No HK45 fans around to state a case?
