    Default USP Versatility

I haven't seen any members post one of these.
USP45c conversion to 400 Corbon with just a barrel swap.
Supposed to be 135gr at 1450 fps.
Haven't shot it this way yet. Anyone else try?

That reminds me........I had considered this conversion years ago but got distracted by life, kids and a tanked '08 economy. I even accumulated 300 pieces of brass and dies for the load. I wonder where I put all of that stuff. All I needed was the barrel but was told by every manufacturer that it would be years before I could get one because of the run on firearm stuff that lasted from Nov '07 to some time in 2010. I'd be interested in a range report after you do run it.

Who made the barrel in that USP45C and when?

I am interested if anyone wants to chime in about a full size USP .45 conversion to .40 Super. Specifically who would make the barrel?

Here's the Firedragon insert. I bought it from a board member maybe a year ago, but I do not know the date of mfr.

a back in the day you could buy 40sw corbon ammo in 135 grain at 1350 to 1400 fps. Shortly thereafter they started putting forth the 400 corbon as a compliment to other rounds and offerings they had.

I like the 400 CorBon in the 1911 platform. I have converted one Para-Ordnance to a 400 using an Ed Brown drop-in barrel. It's a great shooter and a very good defensive round with the CorBon 135gr JHP (1450fps/568ft lbs). Totally reliable with no FTF. The round is accurate, hits hard, and has good energy transfer with a penetration of around 10". It's my main summer carry handgun. In winter, I return to a 45ACP with 200gr EFMJ...good luck
