    I handled several of them and also decided to skip over the P2000. At first it was because I didn't get LEM and preferred my USPs. Then I trained myself to appreciate LEM so now the issue was that the P2000 seemed similar enough to the USP Compact and I already had one of those. Then I decided that argument was silly too because having two similar pistols that can use the same magazine is a good idea; one for the house, one for carry, etc. P2000 and the P2000sk would be a good CCW option to consider even in a world of P30s since it seems to be the slimmest and most straightforward of the concealable choices, with an in-the-middle barrel length and the option for .357 Sig. That said I like the P30s quite a bit. Thinking about it, the P2000 might have a new life as an EZ Shield competitor if it was A) marketed that way and B) released in a 0.380 version. So that's probably the only pistol from pre-2007 that might be worth exploring for a 2020s makeover simply because of its dimensions and parts availability.

    That and making 15-round magazines now that they make 17-round mags for the P30 and the 12-round mags are coming for the sk.

    I pick up my P2000 V2 LEM tomorrow, just ordered the X-Grip for the P2000 for the 15/17 round mags from Greg Cote newly released. Nice package

    As in non-ext basepad factory HK (and not HKP/ETS) mags?

    Nice, but at that point I can just carry my P30... hence me hoping for a revamped P2000 mag soon.

    Yep, an HK rep recently confirmed that factory flush-fit P30sk/VP9sk 12-round magazines are in the pipeline. I guess when they suddenly have sk mags on sale for $20 a pop, we will know they are imminent.

    Sonova!
    Makes my P30/SK/USPc/P2000 10/13/15 Gen-1 ‘obsolete’.
    SK/12.1 makes a sweet setup, although the 13.1 doesn’t extend much. Mike/CrossCreek’s got more 17s coming and he’ll let me know if they’ll have the hkwebshop/red followers.
    Nowadays I carry more my P2000 vs. ‘FS’ P30/P30S, it still has less mass even with the xgrip/17. USPc/P2000 makes a sweet carry in xgrip/17.1 + 17 spare.
    Proves they should’ve released the Gen-2 mags to begin with, which they’re doing now to compete/conform to the market.

    Do the original xgrip adaptors work with the 17 rounders?

    USPc/P2000 13->15 xgrip.
    IDK yet on the 17s, but the 'big' difference with the 15/17 mag body are the 16/17 peep holes. IIRC the 17 baseplate is thicker but the top/magwell profile is the same.

    HK considers the P30 full size. I have the manual and it literally says that inside.

    Correct. HK makes 3 sizes based on grip size / mag capacity.

    10rd -> sub compact
    13rd -> compact
    15/17rd -> full size
