    Default USP owners...speak up!

OK, I'm an info seeker at the moment. Also, always curious about the next 'better' mass produced (all I can afford) pistol.

I'm just an old paper shooter who hasn't even done that in 20+ years. Purchased a .40sw SIG P320 for home defense and just recently, after hearing my friend, the shooting instructor, go on and on about his H&K USPs, I bought one in my favorite caliber and style...a double stack, single action .45 NON full size GOOD pistol...my new to me USPc .45. It hasn't even been fired by me yet!!

SO, all you USP users, please tell me WHY? Why you chose the USP? What caliber? What was it's intended purpose? HOW do you feel about it?

Please, share your info, stories, pics...I love this pistol already!

Sig is a great gun, but having an HK is prestige and there is alot of history behind the brand. You also can't really just have 1 HK or caliber. I would start with USP 9 just to get things started.

I have owned my USP .40 since 1997. Love everything about it.

I have huge hands so I prefer a "real" full size gun. I loved the SA/DA trigger coming from Glocks. I happened to shoot a Tactical version which had the match trigger. I had to have it. I've tried going to the P30 for the improved ergonomics but I couldn't make the switch over 15,000+ rounds fired on the USP platform. My hands know the controls too well. My carry gun is a 45 compact.

Congratulations on the acquisition--- for me, the USP45FS (Variant 1) for quality and dependability, as well as for carry and home defense!!!

First H&k was a USPc .357sig. I still have it and it’s my favorite out of the 5 I own.

After purchasing my first home i decided I needed a defense weapon.
I asked a co-worker who suggested Sig or H&K. I went and held both and all I could think was if I ever had to use this then I would be crapping in my pants and have NO motor skills. The slides and buttons were so small on the SIG and the H&K was just so overly large there was no way I wouldn’t be able to work the manipulations no matter how much adrenaline was flowing.

I did research and decided on the 357 round due to Wade case.
Started watching Gunbroker and found a used one for $500

Bought Kimbers and Glocks and after picking up the VP9 decided to sell everything and only buy H&K’s.

The USP (any really any HK model) is over-engineered and over-built to make a ridiculously reliable handgun that will go bang every time. Personally, I am more of a fan of the newer models (HK45, P30, VP9, etc.), but I have a huge amount of respect for the USP line. The USP line is just a tank of a handgun. You can't go wrong with any of HK's current line-up.

USP 357c, for CC. The rail is an issue but if you don't like the feel of the trigger there are so many HK mods you can do to change it to your liking.
HK USPc 357 Sig (match trigger)
HK VP357 Sig (40 with RCM 357 barrel) (match trigger)
HK USPc 40 with German 357 barrel installed (match trigger)
    Walther P99 AS (Many 9mm and 40)
    Class 3 Colt M4
    Class 3 Colt Commando
    Class 3 HK MP 5
