Back in the day, it seemed there was one thread a day about these things falling out. Did HK fix this? I never hear about it anymore.
Strange I bought my VP9 back in late summer of 2014 and I have never had any issues with charging handles. I have shot over 3.5K rounds so far.
No such issues with my VP9. Had it since early 2016, and have put over 5500 rounds thru it. Still runs like a champ!
The first thing I did with my VP9 was to remove the charging supports. They look silly and aren't really necessary. I think it looks better without them.
I only read of a couple instances of them breaking, nothing endemic. There were a fair number of folks who removed them as a preference.
What I find hilarious is I don’t care for the VP9 series and I am one of the folks that thinks it doesn’t have the same overall quality or at least feel of quality vs previous HKs (personal opinion if you dig it you do you). That said the one thing about that pistol most folks seemed to dislike were the charging ears and dammit I LOVED EM.
I had zero issues with mine but I removed them from my VP9sk in favor of the flat inserts that HK sells.
