Default Kit to convert VP9 15 round to 17 round?

    Hey everyone,

Is there a kit out yet to convert your 15 round magazine over to the 17 round internals?

    Thanks.

No kit that I’ve seen yet but you can get the 17 rounders for around $33/ea. Then just keep the 15’s or if not wanted, sell them to offset the cost.

Based on username, probably not an option:)

Practically speaking though, you'd need a new spring, follower, locking plate and base plate and if these are selling at a likely $5-8 each, you might as well just buy the whole mag. I still see people paying decent $ for good condition 15-rd mags.

Yeah, just get new mags. The 15 round ones, even converted, will still only have 15 witness holes.

.....and hence, “sell them to offset the cost”. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Just to get an idea of the cost of what the kit might cost, HK Parts sells complete magazines for $50. The magazine body by itself costs $30. So the rest of the parts would total $20 or 40% of the total cost.

Now, $50 is way more than most of us normally pay for a magazine. I usually buy between $35 and $40. At these prices, the kit, assuming it’s still 40% of the price of a new magazine, would cost $14 to $16.

I’d buy a few at these prices but definitely not enough to convert all of my mags. I’d rather just buy a new one and add to the total number of mags I own...that’s just me though.

Does anyone have the 17rd mags in stock for reasonable prices?

Do those work very well? I’ve read mixed reviews on the hkparts extensions.

I've picked up a few from Primary Arms. Less $$$ than the HK website.
