Default Anyone know why the USP line in made exclusively in Germany?

Just curious why the USP line is made exclusively in Germany, while other HK firearms are made in both the US and Germany?

Only the HK45 and MR series are "manufactured" in the US. In "manufactured", it actually means that the parts, which are made in Germany are "assembled" in the US. With the HK45 series, the one difference is the receiver mold, which is actually poured and formed here. On the MR series, the one difference is the barrels. They come in as blanks from Germany and are finished here.
With the new US production facility continuing to mature, we should see more occurring in the future for US production.

Things made in Germany are more reliable and will last longer than anything made in US.

As an engineer in the U.S. I'm going to give that a 'nothing is certain' and note there's a lot of things made in Germany that have a reputation for both increased complexity and increased maintenance that dare not be missed.

Back when the USPs came out wasn't everything HK made in Germany? It is probably a carry over from those times.
