It's dirty! High wear areas like the feed ramps and bore seem in great shape. Mechanically, racking and cocking the pistol and the trigger all feel great. I believe the action spring is new. I forgot to take a photo of the striker assembly but aside from some finish wear it looks in good shape and the spring appears as though it might be new as well. Interestingly, the most finish wear on the major assemblies of the pistol appears to be on the backstrap of the frame. I'm not sure why that is, but it is quite smooth and does not appear to have much of the factory finish left at all. There are marks from the recoil spring on the barrel -- there may have been some rust on the spring at some point in the past or they may clean off with some elbow grease.

Did James find any issues with the pistol? Anything need replacing?

He doesn't have it yet -- the box is going out today. I'll report back with his findings.

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

When I spoke to Nikki at Ford's recently she mentioned that case hardening a P7 slide has not produced the best results. I have a M8 getting a high polish hard chrome and a commercial P7 getting hard chromed hoping that they can leave the original markings intact.

I made several attempts to try to get the writing to show up, but they polished the surface so it's not conducive for these types of pics. Moving it in and out of different lighting, it looks like "West Covina Police"

Interesting how they scrubbed it. Any idea why a department wouldn't want you to know that these were their guns?

I can only speculate. My nearest guess is politics or departmental bureaucracy. Similar to why you can't buy certain police patches from uniform shops, I can see someone doing their best to post as a police officer. Or misrepresent themselves accidentally.

I think that you could be correct based on these photos posted online. The markings are in the exact same places as those that were ground off.

It'd be neat to have the "West Covina Police" put back on the gun. I'd much prefer that over re-bluing or case-hardening

CDNN just listed another police trade in P7 M13. I wonder how much this one will sell for?
