One can hope. Unfortunately, in the states most places don't accept returns after a firearm has been legally transferred (ATF Form 4473).

Here's some comparison pics with a de-milled 416 lower. The rear retainer hole wasn't as bad as I thought, but out of spec just enough to cause problems.

That is an very early 416 lower. It appears as though HK moved the retaining roll pin was located. I wonder if it was not for the very reason depicted in your other post.

Yes, it's an older 2006 manufactured lower. That could be - I'm not sure what HK changed on the lowers over the years.

Not many changes were made that I can tell. But, take the milling on the front of the magwell. Yours is essentially the same in general pattern, but yours is not as deep as mine. If there was any variance in how the forging was placed in the fixture for milling, then the retaining roll pin hole being on the outskirts of tolerances could make a difference and cause a problem.

So I am gonna publicly eat crow. I talked to NzFly and figured out the avenues he offered were to tough for me at the moment monetarily. But I will be hitting him up at a later time. Shout out to him for his kindness and knowledge!! I did however just BACK order one of the Brownell’s BRN-4 lowers. I believe after the most recent things said I am OK with the way they look. I hope once mine arrives I will be satisfied with the workmanship. Fingers tightly crossed. Any kind of time frame on the back orders that any of you know about?

Have my Brownells 416 kit assembled. Just waiting to find someone willing to laser engrave my lower.

What did you use for your lower small parts? I'm looking to finish mine as well but can't source a HK lower small parts kit.
