This comment brings up one of my most bitter sweet memories, I can still see it in my minds eye, A banner hanging over a group of tables in the pole barn at Knob Creek.
It said, " Knob Creek Special -- HK Sears - $495!! "
So whats a HK41 without the swing arm worth these day?
$495 seemed like an awful of money for a little piece of metal but I bought one anyway.
I distinctly remember justifying the price by seeing other people buy them and thought to myself if I have to sell it Iím sure Iíll at least get my money back.
A little over a year later Vollmer ran an ad that he was paying $900 for them so I sold it.
The morning coffee on occasion has an extra bitter taste to it sometimes because I wished I had bought a coffee cup full of those damn things.
That is the Grail for sure. And for the posters that think, same as my 91 except ..., I am just shaking my head. Lol! I should have bought one at $4k But at the time a sear was $5k...
This is the cream de la cream, My wife is gonna kill me if i try to buy this.
Soooooo…..just go ahead now and prep the wife, "honey, Uhhum….I bought a gun today. No big deal....just a rifle." You now have 30
days to plan this out.
