Quite amazing!! I wish I was old enough back in the day to buy one of these when they were first imported. Amazing how prices have climbed, despite the fact that the sp5k is on the market. Looks like sp89s are still getting top dollar.

If I had been given the choice in 1990 between all 5 of those, versus a copy of Revenge of Shinobi, Golden Axe or Ghostbusters on SEGA Genesis, my choice would have been perfectly clear...

What do you think the owner paid for those in 1990? I have no idea, guessing maybe six or seven hundred each? His will power should be commended. How do you keep from shooting one of them? Of course we have no way of knowing how many he actually bought. Back in the mid 80's a buddy of mine bought an HK93, I think he paid about $500 for it, that was BIG money to an enlisted guy. A coworker recently told me his dad bought four new Pythons in about 1978, two of them still sit unopened in his safe after 40 years. Cha-ching!
    Mrs. Peel, we're needed.

    I'd say you're about spot on.....somewhere between $550-$650 each....good investment.

GunBroker is full of dreamers. That advertisement is in no way indicative of the market for SP89s.
